Get to know the CCA Board of Directors

Today, we interview Chiara Venuti and explore her passion for innovation in the cold chain industry, the importance of stakeholder collaboration, and her enthusiasm for sustainability and AI-driven solutions.

What inspired you to become involved in the cold chain industry, and then a board member of the CCA?

My passion for this industry! It never stops to evolve and improve. Feeling a little bit closer to the pharmaceutical industry helps me believe we can bring the different stakeholders closer to deliver nothing but excellence to patients in need.

What’s one strategic priority or initiative you’re most excited about within the CCA right now?

We really want to bring the different stakeholders together, we can deliver the strongest supply chain when all individual rings of the chain are solidly attached and looking into the same direction.

What unique perspective or experience do you bring to the board?

I started my “cool chain” career with one of the TOP global freight forwarders in the perishable field, I then moved on into a young and fast growing temperature-controlled packaging company for healthcare industry to now be VP Global Drug distribution in one of the top healthcare precision logistics companies. I am lucky to have collaborated with the largest pharmaceutical companies and I can bring different perspective to the Board.

What’s the most exciting innovation you’ve seen recently in the industry?

Recently the hot topic is sustainability, with comes with its own challenges on how it can be measured and what exactly does it mean (fewer CO2 emission, recyclable solutions, reusable solutions). The other area of interest is AI, with real time visibility, predictive analytics and intervention. Both fields are brining very interesting initiatives and new products into the market.

How do you see the Cool Chain Association driving change or innovation in the coming years?

We will drive innovations together with our members and in alignment with the other associations of the field. We will bring people together with our events and we will discuss and further analyse the topics that are closer to our members and the industry itself.

What advice would you give to the next generation of professionals entering temperature-controlled logistics?

Keep your eyes and mind open, be curious and open your arms to innovation.

On a lighter note — what’s something people might be surprised to learn about you?

I am Italian but I am a terrible cook! I know my basics but I can easily do with ordering in a pizza 😉
