CCA AGM 2013 on 14-15 May in Brussels

In Health Science Logistics, is the Airport the Weakest Link ?

The logistics market for temperature-sensitive healthcare and life science products is dynamic and new developments raise questions:

  • What are the weak links in the pharmaceutical/healthcare air logistics chain?
  • Is it the Airport ? If so, how can these be addressed?
  • How can the necessary changes in behavior, processes or infrastructure be driven and funded, including any necessary training?
  • Is there a role for a quality standard/benchmark for airports or cargo handlers covering cool-chain handling, training and facilities?

The AGM 2013 Event will take place in beautiful Brussels this year.

The CCA is inviting you to join this event and share your views.

Cool Chain Association

The CCA is a non-profit organization, founded in 2003, with the aim of synchronizing the cool supply chain in order to improve the quality of perishables and temperature sensitive products (PTSP) and thus prolong their shelf life and reduce wastage. Presently, approximately 30% of harvested fresh products decay due to incorrect handling and mistakes in the cold chain. As a result, the CCA and its members with the certification experts Germanischer Lloyd created the cold chain logistics quality standard, the Cool Chain Quality Indicator (CCQI). This standard is the first ever attempt to set standards for the entire logistic industry in the handling of PTSP and covers the complete cool chain from production to retail store shelf.
